About us

The Swedish national gambling helpline (Stödlinjen) provides information, advice, and support for anyone affected by gambling problems in Sweden.

Contact us by phone or chat, confidentially and free of charge. Our counsellors speak Swedish and English, and we have interpreters in several languages if needed. On Thursdays we have counselling in Arabic between 3-7pm.

The Swedish national gambling helpline is run by the Centre for Psychiatric Research on behalf of the Swedish Ministry of Health and Social Affairs.

Our counselling

Our counselling is based on research and knowledge of what has helped others in similar situations. We are happy to offer you a range of advice, but you are the one who knows which options best suit you.

Our counsellors have been trained and receive ongoing training to support problem gamblers and their families. The training includes, among other things, knowledge about gambling problems, support and treatment for gambling problems, support for relatives, and motivational interviewing. The counsellors have backgrounds in behavioural science, public health science, psychology, and similar fields.

Your privacy

Our counsellors have a duty of confidentiality. It's optional to provide us with your name or other personal information. We cannot see your phone number or which device you are chatting from. Personal data policy
